Bangpakong Riverside initially appears forgiving because many tee shots are framed by broad, predominantly flat fairways. The challenge becomes clearer as the round develops, with long par fours, extensive water, thick rough and bunkers positioned around common landing areas and green entrances. Open ground allows the riverside wind to affect ball flight, especially on exposed approaches and the longer par threes. Golfers who keep the ball dry and choose suitable tees can create scoring opportunities, while aggressive lines into the main hazards can quickly add strokes.
Bangpakong Riverside was established beside the Bang Pakong River in 1990 and was the first golf course developed in Chachoengsao Province. The property follows a largely open parkland character with palm trees, mature planting, flower beds and lakes distributed across the routing. Its river and lowland setting creates a calm visual atmosphere, but the exposed landscape also allows changing wind to influence the round. This combination of natural openness and repeated water gives the course an identity that is clearly different from Bangkok’s more enclosed residential layouts.
Chird Boonyaratavej designed Bangpakong Riverside to appear accessible from the tee while creating its real difficulty through length, wind and the positioning of water and bunkers. The broadest part of a fairway is not always the most useful approach position, particularly when a lake or greenside bunker closes one side of the target. Several long holes become considerably more demanding when played into the prevailing wind, making realistic club selection more important than the measured yardage alone. The most reliable strategy is to choose a comfortable tee, identify the safest side of the water and favour a full approach from a balanced lie.
The longest setup reaches 7,140 yards, so base your selection on reliable carry and approach distance rather than maximum driving length.
Use the flag, trees and your caddie’s advice before selecting a club because exposed shots can play noticeably longer or shorter.
Use the generous fairway width to favour the safe side when a direct route brings water or a cross hazard into play.
Divide the longer par fours and par fives into comfortable distances instead of forcing low-percentage carries or recovery shots.
Hole 16: The sixteenth is a long par three measuring 220 yards from the longest published tee and 206 yards from the next set. Its distance alone creates pressure, while exposed conditions can change the effective club significantly.
Hole 17: The seventeenth is a substantial par four where water influences the left side and trouble waits to the right. Fairway bunkering further reduces the useful landing area, making position more important than simply driving as far as possible.
Hole 18: The closing par five measures 560 yards from the longest tee and approximately 524 yards from the next published set. Water protects the route into the green, forcing golfers to decide whether to advance aggressively or leave a controlled final approach.
Bangpakong Riverside provides a 25-bay driving range, one putting green, two chipping greens and a practice bunker for pre-round preparation. The clubhouse includes the Bangpakong Terrace Restaurant, a pro shop and separate locker and shower rooms, while the adjoining sport club provides a swimming pool and fitness equipment. Rental clubs can be requested but remain subject to the available type, handedness and current stock. One caddie is arranged for each golfer, while the golf-cart arrangement, rental equipment and any private transfers are confirmed with the Fairways of Eden quotation. The course is physically located in Ban Pho District, Chachoengsao, east of Bangkok. It is generally included within the wider Bangkok golf market because of its access from East Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Bangna–Trad corridor.
The wide fairways make the course approachable, but it can play considerably harder when the wind strengthens. Long holes, water hazards, thick rough, fairway bunkers and lengthy par threes provide most of the challenge.
Yes. Beginners and higher-handicap golfers can enjoy the course from an appropriate forward tee because the driving corridors are generally generous. Conservative targets are still important around the water.
One caddie per golfer is included in the Fairways of Eden quotation. The current golf-cart inclusion and allocation are confirmed for the requested date before payment.
Rental clubs may be available, but the required handedness and golfer type should be submitted with the tee-time request. Rental stock and the final fee must be confirmed in advance.
