Cascata Golf Club offers more variety than a conventional single-course venue because the assigned round can combine two of four separate nine-hole layouts. Several driving areas appear generous, but water, fairway movement and the preferred angle into the green make position more important than the visible width suggests. The open setting also exposes golfers to changing wind direction and makes distance control particularly important on approaches played across or beside water. The experience can therefore change noticeably between visits depending on the two nines allocated for the round.
The Cascata property began as flat rice-paddy land before being reshaped into a large golf complex. Rather than disguising the site’s low-lying character, the design uses water as a central landscape and strategic feature while adding rolling fairways and subtle dune-like movement. The club describes its original A and B layouts as tropical golf, while the C course introduced a more links-inspired interpretation adapted to Thailand’s climate. A distinctive turf variety locally described as “love grass” was also selected to strengthen the visual contrast between the fairways, sunlight and surrounding water.
Cascata rewards golfers who identify where the next shot should be played from rather than automatically aiming for the widest part of the fairway. Water frequently controls the safest line, while rolling ground and open green entrances can change the value of each landing area. Aggressive golfers may be able to shorten selected holes, but a missed carry can turn a manageable hole into an immediate penalty. The stronger strategy is to establish the available bailout, select the correct side of the fairway and leave an approach that does not require crossing the widest section of a hazard.

Use the apparent fairway width to find the strongest approach angle instead of automatically hitting toward the centre with maximum power.
Identify the safe carry and bailout before selecting a club, particularly when water runs diagonally across the intended route.
Allow for wind and exposed landing areas, and use your caddie’s advice when the full green surface or surrounding slopes are difficult to read.
Courses A and B: These original nines opened together in October 2006 as a 7,047-yard, par-72 layout. Their design established Cascata’s tropical-golf identity, using the warm-climate setting, water and reshaped rice-paddy terrain to produce an open but strategically controlled round.
Course C: Added in 2007, the 3,707-yard C course introduced Cascata’s tropical-links concept. Rolling fairways and subtle dunes create more ground movement, while the surrounding water preserves the distinctly Thai character of the property. The club has highlighted the par-three fourth hole on Course C as one of Thailand’s notable individual golf holes.
Course D: The D course completes Cascata’s current 36-hole configuration. Together, A, B, C and D allow the club to assign different 18-hole combinations, so golfers should confirm the scheduled routing rather than assuming that every visit follows the same sequence.
The clubhouse includes a restaurant serving Thai, Chinese and Japanese food, a pro shop, changing rooms and a function room accommodating up to 300 guests. Golf-club and golf-shoe rentals are available through the pro shop, subject to availability. One caddie and one golf cart are assigned per golfer, and appropriate golf attire is required. Cascata’s current facilities page marks the driving range as under repair, so golfers should not depend on pre-round range access without reconfirming its operating status. Rental equipment, practice access, the assigned course combination and any private transfers should be confirmed before travelling.
Cascata Golf Club has 36 holes divided into four nine-hole courses named A, B, C and D. Each nine plays to par 36, allowing the club to create an 18-hole, par-72 round from two assigned courses.
The available 18-hole combination depends on the club’s operating schedule for the requested date. Fairways of Eden will confirm the assigned or available course combination with the tee-time quotation whenever that information is provided by the club.
Cascata can be challenging because of its length, extensive water, exposed approach shots and the need to choose effective landing positions. Its visible fairway width makes it more playable from sensible tees, but aggressive mistakes around the water can quickly increase the score.
Beginners can play Cascata from an appropriate forward tee, particularly when accompanied by more experienced golfers. However, repeated water hazards and the length of some combinations mean it is not the easiest first golf course near Bangkok.
One caddie and one golf cart per golfer are included in the Fairways of Eden quotation. The club’s current policy provides an individual cart for each player, while the caddie normally handles the cart during the round.
Cascata Golf Club is in Chumpol, Ongkharak District, Nakhon Nayok, northeast of Bangkok and beyond the Lam Luk Ka area. Private transfers can be requested from Bangkok hotels, airports or another agreed pickup point, with journey time depending on location and traffic.
