The Vintage Club provides a traditional strategic test in which the widest visible section of fairway is not always the strongest position for the next shot. Lakes, creeks and bunkers repeatedly influence the preferred driving side, while exposed sections of the layout can bring changing wind into approach and par-three club selection. The rolling terrain creates subtle changes in stance and effective yardage without turning the course into an extreme elevation test. From the correct tee, the layout remains enjoyable for mixed abilities, but inaccurate shots around water and defended greens can quickly increase the score.
The Vintage Club occupies an established landscaped property in Khlong Dan on the eastern side of the Bangkok metropolitan region. Gently rolling fairways, mature trees and areas of natural planting create a quieter countryside atmosphere than golfers might expect from a course serving the Bangkok market. Lakes and smaller water channels divide the playing corridors and add both visual separation and strategic pressure. The setting feels established and green without relying on mountain scenery or large artificial elevation changes.
Arthur Hills and Associates designed The Vintage Club around angles, controlled risk and the relationship between the tee shot and the next approach. Water and bunkering often narrow the shorter route, while the safer side of the fairway can leave additional distance or a less direct view of the green. Rolling ground also affects rollout and stance, making a balanced lie more valuable than a few extra metres from the tee. The strongest strategy is to identify the preferred approach side, preserve a clear view of the target and avoid attacking difficult flags from a short-sided position.
Choose a tee according to reliable carry distance; the 6,952-yard black-tee scorecard creates a substantially longer test than the forward options.
Use the fairway width to favour the side that opens the green rather than automatically aiming toward the centre of every landing area.
Identify the safe carry and bailout before taking an aggressive route beside a lake, creek or water-protected landing area.
Confirm effective yardage with your caddie when the lie, fairway movement or exposed conditions may change the required club.
Position from the tee: Fairways can appear reasonably generous, but lakes, creeks and strategically placed bunkers determine which side provides the clearest and safest approach. A drive that finishes in the fairway can still leave a difficult angle if it is positioned on the wrong side.
Approach control: The rolling terrain and defended green entrances place greater value on effective yardage and landing position than on simply reaching the putting surface. Conservative centre-green targets are often stronger than attacking a flag beside water or sand.
Changing conditions: The open sections of the course can expose golfers to changing wind, particularly later in the day. Club selection should therefore reflect the current conditions and the safe miss rather than the scorecard distance alone.

The course is moderately challenging from suitable forward tees but becomes considerably more demanding from the black tees. Water, bunkering, changing wind and the need to approach several greens from the correct side create most of the difficulty.
Beginners can play The Vintage Club from an appropriate forward tee. The layout provides reasonable playing space in several areas, but less experienced golfers should use conservative targets around the water and follow their caddie’s advice.
One caddie per golfer is included in the Fairways of Eden quotation. The applicable golf-cart inclusion and allocation are confirmed for the requested date before payment together with the green fee and any optional transfer.
Rental golf clubs are available subject to current stock and should be reserved in advance. Golf shoes, umbrellas and selected additional rental equipment may also be available.
