The round moves through mature tree corridors, gentle elevation changes and recurring water, with each hole presenting a different sightline rather than repeated power-based tests. The white tees provide a calmer rhythm, while the back tees make the routing considerably more demanding. Fairway lies can be subtly uneven, the rough limits recovery options, and the closing holes increase pressure through water, bunkers and partially obscured targets.
The course’s identity comes from mature trees, rolling countryside and a water system that affects almost every hole. The bunkering includes traditional pot-bunker influences, while the fairways and closely defended greens create a distinctly northern parkland setting. The course feels enclosed from many tees and softer in contour than mountain golf, but water, rough and small targets prevent the landscape from becoming an easy visual exercise.
Peter Thomson’s routing rewards position more than raw distance. Doglegs and fairway bunkers influence the preferred side of the tee shot, while water and rough punish attempts to cut corners without control. Several greens are narrow, elevated or strongly sloped, so the quality of the approach depends heavily on the lie and angle created from the fairway. Shorter holes remain demanding because pot bunkers, out-of-bounds lines and compact putting surfaces turn poor positioning into difficult recovery shots.
The white tees create a manageable round, while the back tees add length and a substantially harder test.
Use the preferred side of each dogleg to open approach angles and avoid being blocked by mature trees.
Do not force carries or corners when water, deep rough and fairway bunkers remove the safe recovery route.
Use the caddie for landing lines and green slopes where targets are elevated, narrow or partly hidden.
Hole 15, par 5: The second shot is the main decision. Fairway bunkers protect the right side, water threatens short and left, and the final approach is partly unsighted. Controlled positioning is more valuable than forcing distance.
Hole 17, par 3: Officially identified as the signature hole, this long par 3 requires a committed carry over water to a wide but shallow green. Missing the putting surface creates a difficult recovery late in the round.
Hole 18, par 4: The finish requires a centred drive between fairway bunkers before an approach to a guarded green. A large bunker short of the target punishes under-clubbing, so the hole rewards a composed final approach.
Golf facilities include a driving range, two practice greens, a pro shop and a restaurant. Rental clubs can be requested in advance, subject to current availability. A caddie is compulsory, and the Fairways of Eden tee-time setup includes a golf cart. Final cart allocation and operating arrangements are confirmed with the tee time. Golfers should arrive with enough time to check in, prepare equipment and meet the caddie before play.
The current starting rate is displayed dynamically in the booking card above. It covers the services identified beside the rate, while the final tee time and availability remain subject to confirmation by the course.
From the back tees, the course is a serious test because of its length, tree-lined corridors, rough, water hazards and defended greens. The white and forward tees make the course more manageable, but accurate positioning remains important throughout the round.
The course can suit beginners who use an appropriate forward tee and accept that water, rough and compact targets will still create pressure. A caddie can help with direction, club selection and local green reading, but the layout is not completely forgiving.
A caddie is compulsory and is included in the Fairways of Eden tee-time setup. A golf cart is also included. The exact cart allocation and any sharing arrangement are confirmed with the final tee-time booking.
The course is in Mae Faek, San Sai, on Chiang Mai–Prao Road north of Chiang Mai. Journey time depends on the accommodation location and traffic, so Fairways of Eden confirms the appropriate pickup time when transfers are requested.
Fairways of Eden handles the tee-time request, course confirmation, compulsory caddie and golf-cart arrangements, and clear confirmation of what is included. Private transfers can be added, and rental clubs can be requested subject to availability. You receive one confirmed booking setup with local support rather than several separate arrangements.
