Kirimaya’s single-track routing gives each hole a detached, private feel, with little visual overlap between groups. The round moves through forest edges, open mountain views, ponds and reed-lined water corridors rather than repeating one landscape. Foliage can make landing areas appear narrower than they are, while the stronger holes ask golfers to choose between safer positioning and more ambitious carries. The rhythm builds towards a demanding water-influenced finish.
Kirimaya sits on the edge of Khao Yai National Park within a broad mountain landscape. Mature forest encloses parts of the routing, while ponds and reed-lined water become active hazards on several holes. The single-track plan spreads the course through this terrain instead of placing fairways side by side, preserving quiet sightlines and making the surrounding vegetation, water and mountain backdrop central to the course’s identity.
Nicklaus uses width selectively. Several tee shots look generous, but bunkers, water and angled doglegs make the preferred side of the fairway important. The par fives introduce route choices around water, while shorter par fours become difficult when golfers chase distance instead of protecting the approach angle. Green entrances are frequently influenced by sand or water, so position and distance control matter more than constant aggression. Strategic pressure rises late in the round, where the sixteenth and eighteenth demand committed tee shots and precise approaches.
Use the five-tee range honestly, because the longer tees add distance to already demanding water carries.
Choose the side of each fairway that keeps water, reeds and bunkers from obstructing the next shot.
A controlled lay-up is often stronger than forcing a carry when the lie or landing area is uncertain.
Confirm landing targets and green contours with your caddie where foliage distorts the visible playing width.
Hole 16 – Par 4: The official guide identifies the 16th as Kirimaya’s signature hole. A slight dogleg right narrows near water and bunkers, making club selection from the tee more important than maximum distance. The approach must then cross or skirt the lake towards a green also defended by a large bunker on the left.
Hole 18 – Par 4: The 18th closes with water in front of the tee and continuing down the left side. A central fairway bunker interrupts the most comfortable driving line, while water and sand protect the green. It matters because the final hole demands two controlled placement decisions rather than offering a simple power finish.
Kirimaya provides a clubhouse with locker rooms and a pro shop, a putting green, restaurant outlets and rental clubs. Proper golf attire is required. One caddie and one golf cart are compulsory for every golfer, so the course is not a walking option. The published rules allow a maximum of five golfers per group; weekend and public-holiday groups require at least two players. Solo golfers tee off after 14:00, while nine-hole play begins from hole one after 15:00.
The current starting rate is displayed dynamically in the booking card above. It includes the services listed alongside the rate, including the compulsory caddie and golf cart. Final availability and the confirmed tee time remain subject to approval by the course.
Kirimaya is strategically demanding rather than relentlessly narrow. Five tee sets make the playing length adjustable, but water, bunkers and angled approaches punish poor positioning. Mid-handicap golfers should find it manageable from suitable tees, while aggressive play from poor positions raises the difficulty.
Beginners can play Kirimaya from the forward tees, but it is not the easiest first course. Repeated water decisions, strategic bunkering and the compulsory cart create a structured round. New golfers should choose conservative targets and follow their caddie’s local guidance.
Yes. Kirimaya’s published regulations require one caddie and one golf cart for every golfer per round. Fairways of Eden therefore includes both within the booking arrangement rather than presenting either service as an optional addition.
