Crystal Bay offers a traditional tropical parkland round with enough fairway width to remain enjoyable while water and bunkers continue to influence the preferred route. The ground moves gently rather than dramatically, creating occasional uneven lies without the severe elevation changes found at hillier Chonburi courses. Palm-lined corridors provide much of the visual identity, while lakes and waterways appear beside fairways and in front of selected greens. Golfers who keep the ball in play can create scoring opportunities, but inaccurate shots toward the principal water hazard can quickly turn a manageable hole into a recovery challenge.
Crystal Bay opened in 1988 under the name Natural Park Resort Golf Club before later adopting its current identity. The property lies close to the Gulf of Thailand between Chonburi and Pattaya, with low hills, established vegetation and open water shaping the landscape. Tall palm trees give many holes a recognisable tropical character, while the C nine moves closest to the wooded hills along one side of the property. The combination of mature planting, water and three separate nines gives the course more visual variety than a single fixed routing.
Thai Takenaka designed Crystal Bay around repeated choices between a direct line near water and a safer route that can leave a longer approach. The fairways are generally playable in width, but lakes, channels and bunkers reduce the useful landing area on several holes. Approaches become more difficult when played from the wrong side because water or sand can narrow the entrance to the green. The strongest strategy is to confirm the active nine-hole pairing, identify the main hazard from the tee and favour a clear approach angle rather than pursuing maximum distance on every drive.
Check whether the round uses A–B, A–C or B–C because the sequence, total yardage and individual hazards change with the pairing.
Identify the safe side before every tee shot and accept a longer approach when the direct route brings a lake or channel into play.
Favour the section that opens the green rather than automatically aiming for the geographical centre of the landing area.
Confirm the safest carry, bunker position and preferred miss before attacking targets partly protected by water.
Course A: At 3,516 yards from the blue tees, Course A is the longest of the three nines. Its scorecard includes a 215-yard par three at hole 5 and a 165-yard par three at hole 8, while well-known course descriptions highlight the water-led third and eighth as two of Crystal Bay’s most recognisable holes.
Course B: Course B measures 3,437 yards from blue and combines two par threes, two par fives and several substantial par fours. The ninth is a 410-yard par four, while the 429-yard seventh carries the lowest handicap rating on the nine and places a premium on accurate position.
Course C: Course C measures 3,449 yards from blue and moves closest to the low, wooded hills bordering the property. Its routing includes a 554-yard par five at hole 6 and a 526-yard par five to finish, creating a longer closing demand than its overall nine-hole yardage might suggest.

Crystal Bay is generally manageable from an appropriate tee, but water hazards and bunkers influence many driving and approach decisions. Golfers who keep the ball in play can create scoring opportunities, while repeated misses toward water are heavily punished.
