A round at Laem Chabang changes character as the selected nines move between higher ground, water corridors and broader valley terrain. Drives are often framed generously, but uneven lies, changing elevation and shifting sightlines make the next shot less straightforward. Lakes and streams tighten several approaches, while exposed rock and contoured greens alter depth perception. The round therefore feels varied rather than repetitive from the opening holes to the finish.
Laem Chabang occupies a large inland site where rolling hills meet lakes, streams and natural rock outcrops. These features divide the three nines and continually change how holes are seen and played. Higher ground creates uphill and downhill approaches, water defines safer and more aggressive routes, and exposed boulders narrow several visual corridors. Natural vegetation and landscaped planting soften the setting without hiding the course’s underlying landform.
Laem Chabang’s strategy begins with fairway position rather than simple width. Drives placed on the correct side open clearer approaches, while conservative or misplaced lines can leave longer carries, awkward angles or partially screened targets. Jack Nicklaus used fairway and green contouring, bunkers, lakes, streams and rock formations to make route choice matter from the tee. The layout is fair from suitable tees, but one poor position can make the following shot considerably harder.
Select a tee that keeps the longer carries manageable and prevents repeated long-club approaches into protected greens.
Use the side of the fairway that opens the green rather than automatically aiming at the centre.
Allow for uphill approaches, uneven lies and changing depth perception around water and exposed rock.
Ask the caddie about pin depth, green contours and the safest miss before committing to the approach.
Mountain A2, par 3: The safer line favours the right side of the green, reducing the carry over water and retaining bail-out space. More aggressive shots must account for the low bowl near the front-centre of the putting surface.
Lake B3, par 4: A drive into the right half of the fairway creates the more playable approach. From there, the second shot can work away from the lake, bunker and lower ground beside the green.
Lake B9, par 5: Most golfers should treat this as a three-shot hole. The second shot should favour the left of the high hill to reveal the narrow approach between rock outcrops.
Valley C9, par 4: The uphill tee shot is unrestricted by major hazards, but left-side positioning opens the green between its front and rear bunkers.
Laem Chabang provides a driving range, pro shop, locker rooms, restaurant, kiosk and rental clubs and shoes. Advance booking is required. Golf carts are compulsory, with one golfer per cart, so walking-only rounds are not offered. The club publishes group limits of three to five golfers on weekdays and three to four on weekends and public holidays. Only spikeless or soft-spike shoes are permitted.
The current starting rate is displayed dynamically in the booking card above. It covers the services listed alongside the rate, while the final course rotation, playing time and availability remain subject to confirmation by the golf club.
Laem Chabang is moderately demanding from suitable tees. The fairways can appear generous, but elevation changes, water, rock formations and angled approaches punish poor positioning. Golfers who control distance and select the correct side of the fairway generally receive clearer approaches.
Complete beginners may find the course demanding because of its length, water, elevation and compulsory-cart format. Higher-handicap golfers can still enjoy the round by selecting forward tees, avoiding ambitious carries and following local caddie guidance rather than judging the experience only by score.
Fairways of Eden arranges a caddie with the round, and the club requires one cart for each golfer. The booking card identifies what is included in the displayed rate. Final operating conditions are reconfirmed when the requested tee time is accepted.
The course is at 106/8 Moo 4, Beung, Sriracha, Chonburi 20230. The club describes the journey from Pattaya as approximately 30 minutes, although the actual transfer time depends on the pickup location and traffic.
