Waterside opens with broad views and a calm visual rhythm, but the round becomes more exacting as water repeatedly shapes sightlines and approach decisions. The gently undulating ground creates fewer severe stance changes than a hillside course, while the open setting keeps most targets visible. Large greens provide room, yet their subtle movement and surrounding bunkers make distance control increasingly important towards the water-led closing stretch.
Waterside was built around two large reservoirs, with lakes, creeks and wetland edges forming the course’s physical framework. The relatively low-relief terrain allows water rather than elevation to define the routing, playing angles and long views. Broad fairways sit within an open inland landscape, while the modern clubhouse overlooks the course and water features. This two-reservoir setting gives Waterside a clear identity without relying on dramatic elevation or dense woodland.
IMG Golf Course Design uses generous fairway width to create choices rather than automatic safety. Preferred landing areas open clearer approaches, while poor angles bring water, bunkers or less favourable green entrances into play. The large greens can receive a range of shots, but their subtle contours make the correct section important. Strategic depth comes from deciding how closely to challenge water and fairway hazards for a better approach, not from surviving narrow corridors or extreme elevation. Power helps, but controlled positioning and reliable distance judgement create the better scoring opportunities.
Use the five official tee sets to keep water carries and approach distances appropriate for your reliable game.
Aim for the side of each fairway that opens the green rather than simply chasing maximum distance.
Choose a clear carry or conservative route early; indecision brings the course’s lakes and creeks into play.
Ask your caddie for landing lines and green reads, especially where subtle slopes are difficult to see.
Hole 4 – Par 4: This short par four is framed by water and open sky, making precision more valuable than length. The exposed presentation increases visual pressure, and a controlled tee shot is needed to preserve a clean approach. It establishes Waterside’s central theme: generous space still demands a disciplined line.
Hole 17 – Par 4: The seventeenth wraps around a large lake and asks how much water the golfer is prepared to challenge. A more aggressive route can improve the angle and shorten the remaining shot, while a conservative line leaves a longer approach. Positioned late in the round, it turns Waterside’s recurring water strategy into a decisive closing test.
Waterside provides a driving range, putting green and chipping area, together with club rental, a pro shop, restaurant, lockers, showers and drying facilities. Every golfer must use a caddie and an individual cart; carts cannot be shared and may only be driven by Siam Country Club caddies. The official scorecard sets a pace target of two hours fifteen minutes per nine holes and requires proper golf attire. Recent rain may restrict carts to designated paths.
The current starting rate is displayed dynamically in the booking card above. It covers the services identified beside the rate, while the final tee time, availability and complete booking details remain subject to confirmation by Siam Country Club.
Waterside is moderately difficult from a suitable tee, with broad sightlines and gentler contours than a steep course. The principal challenges are repeated water decisions, strategic bunkering and subtle green movement. From the black tees, the official scorecard lists a course rating of 74.8 and slope rating of 139.
Confident beginners can play Waterside from the forward tees, particularly with caddie guidance, but it is not an effortless first course. Water appears repeatedly, and golfers who struggle with carries or directional control should expect to lose balls and prioritise the experience over scoring.
Yes. Siam Country Club requires one caddie and one individual golf cart for every golfer. Carts cannot be shared, and only a Siam Country Club caddie may drive. Recent rain may also require carts to remain on designated paths.
