The Lake Course moves between exposed rises, lower lake edges and sharply changing sightlines, so the round rarely settles into one visual rhythm. Elevated tees open broad views, while uneven lies and raised greens make the terrain feel more severe from fairway level. The two par-six holes stretch the middle of each nine, and the closing holes continue the pattern of long approaches, changing levels and unconventional angles.
The course occupies undulating inland ground in Ban Chang, where lakes, rocky features and mature tropical planting divide broad playing corridors. Elevation is the dominant physical characteristic: tees, fairways and greens frequently occupy different levels, producing open views followed by more enclosed landing areas. The landscape creates much of the course’s identity without relying on narrow corridors, allowing visual space while still making stance, distance and approach angle important.
The routing uses scale, elevation and changing levels rather than narrowness alone to create pressure. Broad fairways can appear generous, but slopes, split landing areas and changing approach angles make the correct side important. The two par-six holes reward staged positioning across several shots, while raised greens and interrupted sightlines prevent the round from becoming a simple distance test. Strategic depth comes from preserving the next angle instead of treating every wide view as permission to attack.
Select a tee that keeps the par-six holes manageable; the longest set creates a sustained long-game examination.
Use the widest visible line only when it leaves a stable stance and a clear angle into the next target.
Adjust carry numbers for raised tees and greens, then prioritise controlled contact from the frequent uneven lies.
Ask the caddie to confirm blind targets, landing levels and putting breaks before committing to aggressive lines.
Hole 4, par 6, introduces the course’s unusual scale early in the round. Its extended sequence requires golfers to plan several connected shots rather than treating the hole as a conventional par five.
Hole 13, par 6, is the longest hole on the published scorecard. Positioning and recovery planning matter because one poor decision can influence several remaining shots.
Hole 15, par 4, plays from a tiered tee towards a split-level fairway. The selected landing level changes the stance, view and quality of the approach.
Hole 18, par 5, closes beside a rocky feature capable of producing unpredictable rebounds. The final strategic decision must consider the surrounding ground as carefully as the intended target.

Yes. The course formerly known as St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club is now presented as the Lake Course at Barcelona Valley Golf Club. The former name remains widely recognised and is retained on this page to connect the current and historic course identities.
The course is demanding from the longer tees because of its length, elevation changes, uneven lies, raised targets and two par-six holes. Sensible tee selection makes it more manageable, but golfers should still expect a substantial strategic and physical test.
Fairways of Eden arranges a caddie and golf cart with the listed round. The booking confirmation will identify the exact inclusions and current course requirements. Do not describe either service as compulsory on the page until the club has directly reconfirmed that policy.
The course is in Samnakthon, Ban Chang, Rayong, within the wider Pattaya golf region. The journey from central Pattaya normally takes around 40–45 minutes, although the actual transfer time depends on traffic, pickup location and tee time.
Fairways of Eden handles the tee-time request, checks availability with the course and confirms what is included before payment. The booking team also coordinates the caddie and golf cart and can add private transfers or request rental clubs when available. Final playing times and operational requirements remain subject to confirmation by Barcelona Valley Golf Club.
