Treasure Hill Golf Club is a demanding position-led course that can appear more straightforward from the tee than it plays from the fairway. Many holes turn noticeably left or right, so a drive that finishes safely but on the wrong side can leave a blocked or awkward approach. Sloping landing areas introduce uneven lies, while the compact undulating greens require more precise distance control than their scorecard length alone suggests. The course contains less water and fewer bunkers than some modern Pattaya layouts, but the hazards that are present are large enough to influence the preferred route.
Treasure Hill sits in the inland countryside of Ban Bueng, away from the denser coastal development around central Pattaya. Mature trees and established vegetation frame much of the routing, while rolling ground creates changing views, downhill drives and uphill approaches without turning the course into a true mountain layout. The quieter rural environment gives the round a noticeably different atmosphere from courses surrounded by resorts, housing developments or major roads. Its more remote setting should be considered when arranging the tee time and private transport.
Yoshikazu Kato designed Treasure Hill around changing directions, uneven ground and the relationship between tee-shot position and the next approach. Doglegs repeatedly reward golfers who shape the ball or choose the side of the fairway that opens the green. The course’s large bunkers can remove a direct route even when they do not appear in large numbers, while compact greens increase the value of approaching from a balanced lie. The strongest strategy is to play toward the widest useful landing area, accept additional distance when necessary and avoid forcing an approach from behind trees or across a severe slope.
Choose a tee according to reliable carry distance; the 7,264-yard black-tee scorecard creates an exceptionally long test.
Play toward the side that opens the next shot rather than simply aiming for the geographical centre of the fairway.
Use the natural slopes to find stable ground and accept less distance when the longer route leaves an awkward stance.
Compact undulating greens make short-sided misses expensive, so use your caddie’s advice and avoid attacking every edge position.
The long opening: Treasure Hill immediately establishes its scale with a 600-yard par-five opening hole from the black tees. The second hole then measures 235 yards from black, creating a demanding long par three before golfers have fully settled into the round.
Hole 16: The 549-yard par five is the course’s best-known hole and is commonly called the Crocodile Hole or Lacoste Hole. Its extended dogleg follows a crocodile-like shape, while a creek beside the playing route and a crocodile statue reinforce the identity.
The strategic decision: The sixteenth rewards controlled second-shot placement rather than an automatic attempt to reach as far down the hole as possible. Golfers should establish the safest side of the dogleg and leave an approach from a balanced lie instead of bringing the creek or blocked angle unnecessarily into play.
Treasure Hill Golf Club provides a practice range and practice green, together with a pro shop, restaurant, male and female locker rooms and shower facilities. The restaurant serves Thai, Chinese and Japanese dishes, while the clubhouse also includes a Japanese-style Ofuro soaking bath for post-round use. Treasure Hill Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course. The current published scorecard lists 7,264 yards from black, 6,787 from blue, 6,404 from white, 5,918 from yellow, 5,628 from silver and 5,384 from red.
Treasure Hill Golf Club was designed by Japanese golf-course architect Yoshikazu Kato and was established in 1994.
The signature hole is the par-five sixteenth, commonly known as the Crocodile Hole or Lacoste Hole. Its long dogleg has a crocodile-like shape, with a creek influencing the playing route.
Different public scorecards and tournament setups use slightly different tee positions. Fairways of Eden uses the current published visitor scorecard length of 7,264 yards, while the Thailand PGA extended the course to 7,343 yards for its March 2026 tournament setup.
Treasure Hill is very demanding from the black tees because of its 7,264-yard length, doglegs, sloping fairways and compact greens. Suitable forward tees reduce the distance, but golfers still need to position drives carefully and control approaches from uneven lies.
Beginners can play Treasure Hill from the red or another suitable forward tee, but the course is not among the easiest introductory layouts. Less experienced golfers should use conservative targets, avoid forcing distance and follow their caddie’s local advice.
One caddie per golfer is included in the Fairways of Eden quotation. The applicable golf-cart inclusion and allocation are confirmed for the requested date before payment together with the green fee and any optional transfer.
The course has a practice range and practice green. Daily access and ball-service times should be reconfirmed because practice operations may change during tournaments, maintenance or special events.
