Phoenix Gold Bangkok presents broad views and generous-looking driving corridors, but useful landing space becomes narrower once water, doglegs and approach angles are considered. The flatter terrain keeps most targets visible, while exposure across the lowland site can bring wind into club selection. The rhythm changes with the operating combination, making route confirmation an important part of understanding the round.
Phoenix Gold Bangkok occupies open countryside in eastern Bangkok, surrounded by flat paddy-field and marshland terrain. Lakes, drainage areas, reeds, low mounding and developing trees create most of the separation between holes. Because the site has limited natural elevation, water and artificial shaping provide its primary visual and strategic structure. The course was previously known as Suvarnabhumi Golf & Country Club.
The four-loop routing creates different 18-hole combinations without changing the site’s open lowland character. Broad-looking fairways do not always provide equally useful approach positions: the preferred side can create a clearer route past water or greenside bunkering. North and East place greater emphasis on doglegs, smaller targets and marshland hazards, while South and West offer a more open outward-and-return rhythm. Strategy comes from controlling angles and distance rather than relying on maximum length.
Use the active combination’s scorecard and avoid tees that turn repeated water carries into the round’s main challenge.
Favour the fairway side that opens the green, because apparent width does not guarantee a straightforward next shot.
Prioritise position through turning holes and treat marshland edges as hazards rather than generous recovery areas.
Ask which nines are operating and use the caddie’s guidance for wind, landing points and subtle green movement.
The North and East nines form the shorter but more technical pairing. Doglegs, smaller targets and repeated water hazards increase the importance of selecting a useful side of the fairway rather than simply finding its widest area.
The South and West nines create a longer and generally more open combination. Parallel outward-and-return holes, semi-rough, marshland edges and greenside bunkers still place a premium on controlled positioning. South and West were selected for the Asian Tour’s 2025 qualifying event and the 2026 Bangkok Classic.

Phoenix Gold Golf Bangkok is a 36-hole facility formed by four nine-hole loops. A standard round combines two nines into an 18-hole, par-72 course. The available combination can change, so the operating route should be confirmed with the tee time.
The course presents a moderate overall challenge, but the character changes between combinations. North and East place greater emphasis on doglegs, water and accurate approaches, while South and West provide more open-looking corridors that still reward controlled positioning and sensible route selection.
Fairways of Eden’s listed tee-time arrangement includes one caddie and one golf cart per golfer, and current booking sources state that carts are required. Rental clubs can be requested separately and remain subject to availability, so they should be reserved before the playing date.
The course is at 54 Moo 5, Soi Suwinthawong 96, Lam Toiting, Nong Chok, Bangkok 10530. It was previously known as Suvarnabhumi Golf & Country Club. Journey times from central Bangkok commonly vary with the starting point and traffic conditions.
