The setting and style

Three Monkeys Villas is a small, newly built (2023) collection of private pool villas set on the hillside above Patong, in the Nanai Road area of Kathu. The elevated position gives the villas sweeping views over the town and out to the sea and a calm, residential feel — yet Patong Beach, Bangla Road and the shopping malls are only a five-to-ten-minute drive down the hill. With just a handful of villas and round-the-clock staff reachable by message, it feels more like a private home than a hotel. Worth knowing: the access road is steep, so a car or villa transfer is the easiest way up and down.

The villas and self-catering

Each air-conditioned villa is fully self-contained, with its own private entrance, a separate living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a private pool — and the signature touches here are an infinity pool and a hot tub on the terrace. Layouts run from one to two bedrooms, each with an en-suite, so the villas suit anything from a couple to a group of four golfers sharing. There’s no on-site restaurant and breakfast isn’t served, which suits guests who prefer the freedom to cook, order in, or walk to the many restaurants and bars nearby.

Golf access and getting around

For golf, the Patong-Kathu position is convenient: Red Mountain, Loch Palm and Phuket Country Club sit roughly 15–20 minutes inland, with the championship Blue Canyon courses about 40 minutes north toward the airport. Because the villas are self-catering with private pools, they work especially well for a group of golfers who want their own space and a pool to relax around after a round, with Patong’s dining and nightlife a short ride away. Phuket’s golf season runs November to April, the driest months and the best for course conditions.
